Oven Baked Fries! Sharing the best (and healthiest!) way to make fries at home! No small kitchen appliances needed! The key to this recipe is to not flip the fries even though it is extremely tempting. Letting the potatoes crisp on one side and then finish under broil for a few minutes allows the potatoes to become really crispy and bake evenly. This will be a must make this summer as these pair very well with grilled or smoked meats or your favorite BBQ. A crowd favorite and very inexpensive. Enjoy friends!
Slice potatoes into steak fries so they are similar shape for even roasting.
Place sliced potatoes into a large bowl filled with water. Let soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the starch to release.
While the potatoes soak: pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees.
On a large sheet pan, spray with non-stick cooking spray. Lay the potatoes out so all the potatoes are spread evenly and not overlapping. Drizzle with EVOO. Sprinkle the pinches of salt and pepper evenly over the potatoes.
Bake for at least 20 minutes until the potatoes are lightly brown on the top. Without opening the oven, broil for an additional 2 minutes until golden brown. Potatoes will be crispy on the bottom and top. Enjoy!
